A recent study conducted by Czech researchers has found that the eye color of unknown individuals is a significant factor in determining their credibility. According to the study, people with brown eyes are considered more trustworthy than those with blue eyes. The researchers asked participants to assess the credibility of 40 male and 40 female unknown students based on a photograph. The results of the study were published in the journal PLOS ONE. Karel Kleisner, from Charles University in Prague, stated that “we found that faces with brown eyes appear more credible to others. However, it is not just the eye color that determines a person’s credibility.”

The study found that for men, the combination of eye color and facial shape is crucial in determining their credibility. For women, round facial shapes with a large mouth and a prominent chin are the features that make them appear more trustworthy. The researchers also found that the associated facial shape with the eyes plays an essential role in the assessment. The study’s findings were confirmed when the researchers altered the eye colors in the photographs.

The study’s implications are significant for human interaction, as a person’s credibility affects their social, economic, and sexual success. Additionally, the study found that people with a credible face are perceived as happier and less aggressive. The study’s results provide insight into the importance of nonverbal communication and the role it plays in human interaction.
