Revolutionary Ultrasound Kitchen Knife Developed by Start-Up 369Sonic

In a world-first, Czech start-up 369Sonic has developed an innovative kitchen knife that uses ultrasound technology to cut all types of food gently. The 369Sonic is the first commercial ultrasound kitchen knife in the world, using an ordinary ultrasound transducer to move the blade of the knife at an ultra-high frequency. The 12-centimeter stainless steel blade of the kitchen knife can vibrate up to 50,000 times per second, allowing it to cut food with minimal pressure and prevent residue from sticking to the blade.

The ultrasound kitchen knife can cut even the most delicate foods, such as tomatoes, without leaving any marks or bruises. The knife’s movements are too fast for the human eye to see, so it emits a warning sound during operation to prevent accidents. The knife is powered by a rechargeable battery located in the handle, which can be charged via induction in the storage holder. However, the blade of the knife cannot be replaced, so it is unclear how long the ultrasound kitchen knife will remain sharp.

The project is currently being funded through the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, with 369Sonic seeking $60,000 to bring the product to market. Supporters can secure the ultrasound kitchen knife for €344, with the first customers expected to receive their knives in March 2024. The development of this revolutionary kitchen knife is set to change the way we prepare food, making it easier and safer to cut even the most delicate ingredients.
